SC Highway 160/Zoar Road (Pennies for Progress 3 Project)
• Will create left turn lane onto Zoar Road and four (4) lanes to NC line
• Construction underway, Completion September 2020
Gold Hill/I-77 (Pennies for Progress 3 Project)
• Will create a diverging diamond interchange to improve traffic flow
• Federal Highways has given approval, 100% construction plans
• Right of way acquisition is complete
• SCDOT will bid and manage construction due to federal funds
• Construction underway, Completion June 2021
Carowinds Blvd/Pleasant Rd (RFATS project with CMAQ funding)
• Will create additional turning lane capacity/storage and intersection improvement
• Utility coordination underway
• Right of way acquisition has begun
• Anticipate construction to begin spring 2021
Hubert Graham Way Extension to Dry Run Road (Pennies for Progress 4 Project)
• Extension of 1,500 feet of Hubert Graham Way to tie into Dry Run Road
• Preliminary design underway
• 70% plans have been approved
• Right of way acquisition is ongoing
Intersection Improvements at Sutton Road/New Grey Rock Rd, Sam Smith Road and Harris Road (Pennies for Progress 4 Project)
• Preliminary design underway
• 30% plans pending approval - changes to Sam Smith Road have required new approvals
• An additional traffic study has been completed to look at the possibility of a round-a-bout compared to traffic signals at New Grey Rock/Sutton. Final decisions have not been made.
Highway 160/I-77 Interchange (RFATS Guideshare Project)
• Four options being studied to improve traffic flow
• Consultant already hired
• Right of way acquisition scheduled to begin by end of the year
• Anticipate construction to begin late 2021, Completion 2024
