The City recently received a letter from SC DHEC regarding lead and copper test results for the June 1 -September 30, 2015 time period. Philip Jolley, Utilities Director for Tega Cay, states "Unfortunately, many of our residents have been misinformed regarding our water containing high lead levels. However, we just received a letter from DHEC stating our lead and copper test results have continually been so low they are moving our water system to ultra reduced, triennial monitoring schedule versus an annual schedule." The individual results will be mailed out this week to the residents who performed sampling in September 2015.
Many residents are unaware the City's water supply comes from Rock Hill who has been commended for excellent water quality. See link below for Rock Hill City staff's presentation to their City Council regarding these commendations (presentation begins at minute 2:20 during video).
Should anyone have any questions regarding lead and copper results, please contact our Utility Department during regular business hours at (803) 548-3514.
