Due to a water main break on Lanai Lane, the City of Tega Cay Utility Department has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers located on Lanai Lane.
While there is currently no evidence of contamination, the advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution following the water main break and temporary loss of pressure.
Residents are advised to vigorously boil water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking, or use bottled water until the advisory is lifted. This includes water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
The advisory will remain in effect until bacteriological samples confirm the water is safe to drink. Once testing is complete, the City will notify residents when the advisory has been lifted.
