In light of the public health crisis created by the spread of COVID-19 and in an effort to reduce the chances of the virus spreading, City Council has enacted an emergency ordinance outlined below. The authority to enact such an ordinance is granted to them under State Law via Section 5-7-250 (d). All City parks are closed effective immediately. The lower level of the Glennon Center is closed effective immediately. Any civic group scheduled to utilize the lower level will need to cancel. Staff will be contacting group representatives on Monday, March 16th. Any person(s) found in any City park will be asked to leave. Furthermore, the City is suspending utility disconnects. Customers who do not pay will still be assessed late charges, but we are temporarily suspending disconnections of service. You can pay your bill online or on the toll free number listed on your bill. If you would prefer to still drop off your payment, please utilize the drop box located outside of City Hall. Our City Manager is meeting tomorrow morning with Department Heads to put our Continuity of Operation Plan into effect. All of these changes will remain in effect until further notice.
