The City of Tega Cay lowered flags today in memory of the late Kitty Updike, Tega Cay City Councilmember from 1983 – 1990. Ms. Updike also served as Mayor Pro Tempore from 1984 until 1986. Mayor Sheppard stated “We were deeply saddened to hear the news of Ms. Kitty’s passing. She was such an integral part of Tega Cay’s beginnings as a City – shaping and forming a place so many of us love and call home. She continued to work closely with the City even beyond her years on Council and she will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Updike family and all of those who had the opportunity to know her.”
