Last winter, the City completed its first Citizens Academy. After receiving rave reviews from the citizens who attended, we scheduled another session which will begin March 10th. Classes meet from 6:30-8pm one night a week for 5 weeks. Presentations are made by City staff to help citizens gain a better understanding of the operation of departments and include City Management, Human Resources, Finance, Utilities, Public Works, Storm Water, Development Services, Public Safety, Parks & Rec and I.T.
If you are interested in enrolling, please visit City Hall (M-F) 8:30a-5p to sign up by March 4th. Classes will meet once a week from 6:30p-8p beginning March 10th (with the exception of Spring Break) for a total of 5 sessions in the Council Chambers located in the lower level of The Glennon Center at 15077 Molokai Drive. Deadline to sign up is March 4th. The fee for the course is $5 to cover cost of materials (free for students). Class size is limited to 30 participants.
