We have received questions regarding the contractor that is removing trees adjacent to the overhead power transmission lines in the City. This contractor has been hired by Duke Energy to work within the Duke owned transmission right-of-way only. This work is necessary in order for Duke to maintain the safety of their transmission lines. The contractor will be working in the City until they have completed this task. City staff is monitoring the work that is being performed and staying in contact with the right-of-way manager from Duke Energy.
