In 2016, City Council directed staff to hire a consultant to study the current condition of the police station and report back on what was needed. Could the current station be renovated? Should a new station be built? What critical items are lacking at the current station that need to be implemented? On November 13, 2017, the consultants from Moseley Architects presented their findings and recommendations in a workshop with City Council. The City's financial adviser from First Tryon was also at the workshop and discussed what funding mechanisms are available to cities and made recommendations on which option was best suited for the city. Both of those presentations are linked below. The video of the workshop can be found here "on demand", or viewed on Comporium Channel 115 or 126 (unincorporated areas in the FM Township west of I-77) at 8:30 AM, 2 PM and 8:30 PM.
