Storm Water Tip
This is the time of year when urbanites fertilize their landscaping. Always follow
the rates and application instructions that are provided with each product. Things
to avoid when applying herbicides and fertilizers include: Over application of the
product, high concentrations of the product in small areas and getting product on
impervious surfaces. Proper application rates are critical to getting the anticipated
purpose out of each product. Piles of granular material will lead to an undesired
affect in that area. Protecting our water starts in your yard. All the product that is
applied to the driveway, sidewalk and street will get into the storm water system.
These chemicals do affect our water quality. Please be aware of your contribution.
